Audition for our award-winning Shakespeare Troupe! We will travel to Cedar City for a 3-day field trip where we will compete at the Utah Shakespeare Festival and get to see a lot of amazing theatre! TRAVEL DATES: October 1-3

What is Shakespeare Troupe?

Shakespeare Troupe is our award-winning Shakespeare Competition Team. Those on the team travel to Cedar City for 3- days on an overnight trip to compete at the Utah Shakespeare Festival.

Who can be in the Shakespeare Troupe?

Shakespeare Troupe is open to any students 7^th -9^th grade. Students must audition for a spot. Not all who audition will get a spot. We typically take about 25 students.

Is there a cost?

Yes, there is a cost for this trip. The cost of the trip is typically between $300-$400 per student, but the cost is all-inclusive (travel, hotel, food, show tickets, etc) There will be an informational parent meeting before auditions on August 23 at 4:00 PM with more details.

When are rehearsals?

Rehearsals are excusively after school, typically Monday through Friday, with an occasional Saturday. An exact rehearsal calendar will be given after auditions. Rehearsal conflicts may be considered when students audition. Competition is October 1-3 in Cedar City.

What should students prepare for auditions?

Students can prepare 1 of the following for audtions:

A monologue (1 person) from a Shakespeare play (2-4 minutes long)

OR

A scene from a Shakespeare play (2-3 people, 3-5 minutes long)
