• Pick a song that has a strong character
• Act the song as you perform
• Dress professionally
  • You can hint at the character in the show you are interested in
• Pick a song that you enjoy
• Play a character
  • Acting > singing ability
• Pick something more upbeat

DON’T…

• Don’t pick a song that doesn’t match your voice type
• Don’t pick a song from the show you’re auditioning for unless they ask you to
• Don’t just stand and sing
• Don’t do full out choreography
• Don’t wear a costume
• Don’t pick a song JUST because you like it
• Don’t pick a song that is overdone
• Don’t put your hands in your pockets
• Don’t sing an angsty ballad
